12V and 24V LED power supplies for signs

Choose a constant-voltage supply that matches the LED system voltage, then calculate the complete connected wattage and retain suitable operating headroom. As a practical starting point, a 100W supply should normally be designed around an 80W connected load unless the product documentation or project conditions require a different allowance.

Use indoor, rainproof or IP67 waterproof models according to the real installation environment. The enclosure rating does not remove the need for protected connections, suitable ventilation, drainage, cable sizing and access for inspection.

LED power supplies — frequently asked questions

How do I choose the correct LED power supply for a sign?

Match the output voltage to the LED load, total the connected wattage and retain suitable operating headroom. Glowfy recommends designing around 80% of the supply rating unless the product documentation or project conditions require a different allowance.

Can a 24V power supply run 12V LED modules?

No. The power-supply output voltage must match the rated voltage of the connected LED modules or strip. Connecting 12V products to a 24V supply can damage them.

Which IP rating is suitable for an outdoor sign?

Select the enclosure rating and installation method for the actual exposure. An IP67 supply offers stronger water and dust protection than an indoor IP20 unit, but connections, ventilation, drainage and mounting still need to be designed correctly.

Does Glowfy supply LED power supplies across the UK?

Yes. Glowfy supplies sign makers and professional installers across the United Kingdom from UK-held stock, subject to current availability and delivery terms.
